What a great night. Winter is going to post pictures at some point (maybe even before I post this), she is upstairs working on the photos and I am downstairs in the lobby writing this (our AirPort doesn't seem to have made the last leg of the trip with us).
The wedding started with music from Disneyland: Matterhorn music, followed by Raina entering in the dark to The Electric Light Parade music, the corsages and her bouquet all having lights. It was humorous and fun, and really sweet. The ceremony itself was lovely and I found myself tearing up (I usually do at weddings). Watching the two of them I was struck by what a perfect couple they are, and very deserving of happiness.
After the ceremony there was some down time while the restaurant set up for the reception. When it was time to sit, I found myself sitting next to Lee Nordling, who has remarkably similar taste in television to me. I enjoyed talking to him so much that I am afraid I barely spoke to anyone else, he had to leave early, so after he left I met some more people.
I even got to dance. I love to dance. And one of their friends sung a few songs, and the last one was New York City which is a song that They Might be Giants sing (though evidently didn't write) and is my current favorite song, so, Yay for me!
And, they gave us gifts! Raina and Dave put together a comic book for the wedding (the room was decorated with comics as well) that contained their engagement comic and other stuff by other people, just awesome. Everyone was amused by the fact that all the friends found the comic and started reading it, and the relatives didn't notice it.
It is almost one am, so I probably should get ready for bed, but first, I want to wish Dave and Raina all the happiness and luck in the world. I can't think of a couple more deserving of good things.
And, as it is after one am, it is officially the 3rd, so: 26 days and counting.
