Making Comics Fifty State Tour

Important Message

I've relaunched my site and the front page blog, so I'm probably going to focus my travel updates there from now on. (just a bit too weird to be posting links to 2009 events on a page about a tour that wrapped up two years ago).

We'll keep mccloudtour open to preserve the archive of the fifty state tour from 2006-2007, but for future travel updates, check out the new scottmccloud.com.

And of course you can continue checking in on me and the family at:

TONIGHT, Thursday, November 6, 7:00 pm:

And next week:

November 12-15:
Miami, Florida

Meanwhile, check out this awesome 9-Jack-9 costume worn for Halloween by reader Andrew Vestal:

And yes, the awesome Lori Matsumoto took pix of Winter's costume too, and we hope to post those soon.

Oh yeah, and THANK YOU, America, for breaking the ultimate barrier of prejudice in electoral politics: You actually elected the smart guy!

Also, I want to say how incredibly proud I am of Ivy for working her heart out to defeat the pointless and hateful Prop 8 here in California. We came very, very close, and I'm absolutely certain that when this kind of bigotry rears its ugly head again in the golden state, that a new generation will send it back to the stone age where it belongs. I love my wife and treasure our marriage MORE because she tried to extend that right to other loving couples and because we both witnessed such a union just last month. How anyone could think that their marriage could only thrive by denying such a gift to others is beyond me.

poem [Aug. 11th, 2008|12:01 pm]
Making Comics Fifty State Tour

[mood |just woke up]

I've decided to make this an ongoing every monday so here's the next one;

My heart has a pound
a thump, thump, thump
out of my body
it seems to jump

My love can only me seen
through beautiful, romantic, eyes
my heart just cannot be stopped
but something inside me dies

I want true love
a fairy tale ending
at one first kiss
so many emotions blending

Just one thing
a major set back
something that I can’t not face
a major spot in my heart that’s black

I don’t like anyone
in that that way
and when I do
to him, what to say

random epiphany [Aug. 9th, 2008|01:31 am]
Making Comics Fifty State Tour

So I was in bed trying to fall asleep when I decided to wright an autobiographical poem about what the goal that I have been working towards lately. So since I have not achieved my goal yet, the poem is not finished, but here are the first few stanzas;

On my p.e. mat
I sit upside-down
with 2 things on the floor
hands and crown

my legs are bent
because you see
if I did a full headstand
they would fall on me

I was the best at tripod
in my whole class
but when it came to headstands
I fell down like glass

because of this fact
as sad as it is
I got a c
on our p.e. quiz

now months later
and but two weeks ago
I decide I'd get it
then I mastered it like a pro

When I come back to school
I hope to have the next step
of a flat out hand stand
but I need to go prep.

to be continued...
